    40/64bit = 10 characters
    128bit = 26 characters

    40/64 bit = 5 characters
    128 bit = 13 characters

    A specific Ad hoc LAN is called a Basic Service Set (BSS). Computers in a BSS must be configured with the same BSS ID.

    Roaming is the ability of a portable computer user to communicate continuously while moving freely throughout an area greater than that covered by a single Wireless Network Access Point. Before using the roaming function, the workstation must make sure that it is the same channel number with the Wireless Network Access Point of dedicated coverage area.

     

     

  7. Can I run an application from a remote computer over the wireless network? (FAQ | more Wireless)

    This will depend on whether or not the application is designed to be used over a network. Consult the application's user guide to determine if it supports operation over a network.

     

     

  8. Can I play multiplayer games with other users of the wireless network? (FAQ | more Wireless)

    Yes, as long as the game supports multiple players over a LAN (local area network).

  9. Can the Wireless Network Access Point act as my DHCP Server? (FAQ | more Wireless)
    No. The Access Point is nothing more than a wireless hub, and as such, cannot be configured to handle DHCP capabilities.

    For 802.11b cards: XN-2411b (PCMCIA), XN-2511b (PCI), XN-2122b (USB)

    Please check the back of the card, if the FCC ID number is MQ4WB2K5, download the [WB2500/XN-2411B] version.  If FCC ID is MQ4WB2K, please download the [XN-2411B] version.

  15. Does any of the 802.11b product supports Mac and Linux? (FAQ | more Wireless)

    Currently only the XN-2122B has driver for Mac OS X 10.2.x and Mac OS X 10.1.x.  No words for other version of Mac OS at this point, but if we do receive any new driver for Mac user, we will post them on the website.
     

    For the Linux user using Cardbus PC card, we have drivers for Red Hat 7.3 and Red Hat 8.0, for the PCI card, we have driver for Red Hat 7.3.  If you are looking for the driver for the later version of Linux, please use the chipset information of the card to search for the driver online, as some of our Linux customers did.  But, you will be responsible for your own action on using the driver.

     

     

  16. What type of Antenna connector is the XN-2511B using? (FAQ | more Wireless)

    It is a Reversed SMA connector.

     

     

  17. When I try to run the Utility, the program does not seem to have any action.  What is wrong? (FAQ | more Wireless)

    For Windows XP user, if both Utility and driver installed correctly, then please go to Control Panel -> Network Connections -> right-click on the Wireless Card and select Properties.  On the Properties Window, you should see General, Wireless Networks, and Advanced.  Select Wireless Networks and uncheck the first box said "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings".  If you don't see the Wireless Networks appear, please turn off our Utility first, then try the steps again, after disable the Windows Utility, then Run our Utility.
     

    For Windows 98 and 2000 user, please check if the card driver installed correctly, there is no utility to disable for 98 and 2000.  The Utility should automatically recognize the device if the driver is installed.
